New York, NY (77WABC)- Police have released photos of suspects involved in the shooting of a teenager at a playground in Boerum Hill.
16-year-old Kyla-Simone Sobries-Batties was struck in the head by a stray bullet Friday afternoon near at Nicholas Naquan Heyward Jr. Park. Investigators say she was not the intended target and the cause of the shooting is unknown. Sobries-Batties underwent successful surgery at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and is already beginning to recover.
Witnesses say the three suspects fled the scene Friday afternoon: one on foot, one on a scooter and one on a Citi Bike. The NYPD have asked anyone with information on the suspects to call 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
On Friday afternoon, a 16 yr old girl was shot while she was with friends inside Nicholas Naquan Heyward Jr Park at the Gowanus Houses.
